Adoption is a failed social experiment. One that has been open to egregious exploitation since its inception. Grounded in secrecy, deception and the needs of the desperate it continues to create havoc on vulnerable Indigenous and non-Indigenous biological families. Once a child is adopted there is no further screening. Thousands of adoptees are abused daily. Large sums of money and other non financial assistance is given to foster carers but very little if any to kinship carers – and many single mothers struggle in poverty. The out of home care industry is multi billion.
